Overview

Collectabillia is a unique platform offering fans and collectors the chance to own exclusive memorabilia through real-time online auctions. As the platform gained popularity, the need arose for a high-performance, feature-rich auction system that could handle intense user activity and deliver a smooth, trustworthy experience.
We were brought in to architect, build, and test a scalable digital auction engine — one that could support thousands of concurrent bidders, enable flexible auction configurations, and provide real-time transparency through advanced reporting and analytics.

The goal was to develop a secure, scalable, and customizable auction platform with capabilities such as:
Handling 1000+ concurrent users actively bidding in real-time

Our Solution

We delivered a bespoke auction platform, optimized for both scale and experience — combining robust backend logic with a smooth, mobile-friendly frontend.

  •  Scalable Real-Time Bidding Engine.

The core auction module was engineered and tested to handle 1000+ concurrent bids, with auto-refreshing bid states and minimal latency under peak loads.

  •  Multiple Auction Configurations.

Admins could set up and run simultaneous auctions with flexible rules — including base prices, bid increments, bid duration, and auto-extension for last-minute activity.

  • Proxy Bidding Support.

We built logic for proxy bidding, allowing users to set max limits — with the system automatically placing bids until the threshold is reached.

  • Verified Registration Workflow.

The platform included a secure user registration and verification process, adding credibility and preventing fraudulent bidding behavior.

  • Custom Reporting & Analytics

Powerful dashboards offered real-time visibility into bidding behavior, bidder activity, conversion metrics, and auction performance, helping the business refine strategies over time.
